My Story

Esther Lynn Laguerre was born on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Léogâne Holy Cross Hospital, alongside her twin brother, Eli Sterling. Just hours after giving birth, their mother tragically passed away, leaving the newborn twins without a mother and in a desperate situation. Their father, already overwhelmed with the care of three other children and no steady income, was unable to provide even basic necessities. Out of sheer despair, there was talk of selling the babies. But hope stepped in. When Pastor Marc heard of their situation, he acted immediately. He brought the twins to ARISE Children’s Village, where they were received with open arms and given what they had never had before—security, love, and even names.

Esther is now thriving in the warm and nurturing care of Milorvena Joseph and Joseph Max Desgazons in House 1A. Her life began in loss, but her future is filled with hope, belonging, and the beautiful truth that she is deeply loved.
