My Story

Altagracia Victoria’s journey began with hardship. Her mother was only 14 when she became pregnant, suffering abuse from multiple men and unaware of her child’s father. Unable to care for her, she left Victoria with her grandfather—who had no income and couldn’t provide for her. Her grandfather then entrusted Altagracia to a cousin, who took her in out of compassion but lacked the resources to meet even her basic needs. Hoping to give Altagracia a better future, the cousin reached out to ARISE Children’s Village for help.

When Victoria arrived, she was severely malnourished and struggling to breathe. She was rushed to our clinic for urgent medical care. Today, she is a healthy, joyful girl, thriving in the loving care of her ARISE family.
