My Story

Junior was born in Haiti to a single mother. His father abandoned them before he was even born, leaving his mother to face the challenges of raising him alone. Life was incredibly difficult, and in search of a better future, she moved with Junior to Port-au-Prince.

During this time, it was Junior’s grandfather—a hardworking mechanic—who stepped in to help provide for them. But at the end of 2022 and into 2023, bandits invaded the area where his grandfather’s garage was located. Forced to flee for safety, the family returned to Les Cayes.

Soon after, Junior’s mother brought him to stay with his grandfather. Still, it was clear that he needed greater stability and care than the family could provide. That’s when he was welcomed into Haiti ARISE Children’s Village.

​Today, Junior is safe, surrounded by love, and part of a community where he can grow up with hope for a brighter future.
